About us

Catalina Gómez was born in San José, Costa Rica.
She is a contemporary dancer, a career she began in childhood at the Conservatorio de Castella, where she specialized in dance and ballet. In 2002, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Dance from the National University of Costa Rica.

In 2003, she moved to Germany to pursue postgraduate studies in contemporary dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Throughout her career, she worked as a performing dancer for both state-run and independent companies in Costa Rica and Europe.

Since 2007, she has incorporated a regular practice of yoga and meditation into her life, developing a growing interest in alternative methods of relaxation, healing, and self-care.

In 2013, she specialized in supporting elderly adults with dementia at the Dekra Akademie in Düsseldorf, Germany. Later, in 2014, she completed her training as a sound therapist at the Peter Hess Institute, also in Germany.

Between 2015 and 2022, she worked at the Dorothee Sölle Haus nursing home of the Diakonie Düsseldorf, offering holistic support to elderly people and those in palliative care—integrating sound therapy, active listening, and practices that promote physical and emotional well-being.

Alongside this, she has also worked independently, facilitating individual and group sessions in sound therapy, yoga, and meditation.

In 2023, she returned to live in Costa Rica, where she continues her work independently, focusing on integral well-being through sound and body awareness.
